SUPER IMPOSITION combines Nicola Gunn and Tamara Saulwick’s shared interest in text, sound, performance modalities, dramaturgical form and subjective content. It will draw upon Tamara’s practice of using sound and recorded materials to make a kind of documentary fiction and Nicola’s work that blurs the distinction between performer and persona to create an autobiographical fiction.

SUPER IMPOSITION looks at different ways a narrative can be controlled — whether by the documenter or by the subject —the wrestle for control of information and how those roles might be interchangeable. It explores how careful editing and selection can create alternative perspectives, sometimes to the advantage or disadvantage of the other.
